[Singapore, 02 February 2026] –Transport Capital, a leading international transportation and energy services group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ronnie Mbatsane as Partner & Head of Africa. Ronnie joins Transport Capital following a distinguished career at Absa Group, one of Africa’s largest financial institutions, where he held senior executive leadership roles across business and commercial banking. 

In his new role, Ronnie will be responsible for leading Transport Capital’s strategy and operations across the African continent, with a focus on expanding the firm’s transportation and energy activities, strengthening client relationships, and supporting investment and advisory initiatives across key regional markets. He will be based in Johannesburg and work closely with Transport Capital’s global leadership team.

Ronnie brings more than two decades of experience in banking and financial services, including large-scale business transformation, capital solutions, and multi-region operational leadership within highly regulated environments. Most recently, he served as Group Managing Director for Small and Medium Business at Absa Group, where he was a member of the Business Banking Executive Committee and sat on several executive-level and board committees. Earlier in his career, Ronnie held Regional Managing Director roles with responsibility for banking operations across multiple South African provinces, overseeing retail, business, private and wealth banking portfolios.
