According to UNESCO, plastic waste makes up 80% of all marine pollution with approximately 8-10 million metric tonnes of plastic ending up in the ocean each year. Remember to equip yourselves with gloves, reusable bags, and garbage bins as you spend the day helping to collect litter, sorting recyclables, and raising awareness about the importance of keeping our beaches clean.

Use your purchasing power to support businesses that prioritise ocean-friendly practices. Look for sustainable seafood options certified by organisations like the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) or the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC). Other than that, opt for eco-friendly personal care products that do not contain harmful chemicals or non-biodegradable packaging.
